


The Immigration Legal, Educational & Advancement Program’s, “Dixeebe,” Gratitude To Our Ancestors: A Cultural Immersion in Oaxaca. This Study Abroad Program for 2026 is curated for DACA recipients who are eligible and have secured Advanced Parole travel authorization for educational purposes. Our Fall session begins on November 19, 2026, and is a mandatory 4-day study program in Oaxaca. It promotes cultural diversity, identity exploration, and connectedness through academic sessions, excursions and hands on experiences. The (optional) self study portion is until December 19, 2026.
ILEAP will be travelling to Oaxaca, Mexico during the US week of Thanksgiving. However, we will be able to learn and practice, “Dixebee,” a sacred Zapotec expression of gratitude and reverence, particularly when honoring traditions and ancestors. Participants will be able to experience this tradition at the place it its origins. Oaxaca is known for a being a bastion of indigenous culture. It’s the home to the country’s most vibrant crafts and art scene, some outstandingly colorful and extroverted festivities, a uniquely savory cuisine and diverse natural riches. Our participants can honor their ancestors and roots, on this momentous trip.
To APPLY:
2. Fill out Attorney intake form (emailed to selected applicants). An immigration attorney will review eligibility for the travel document, Advanced parole.
3. Accepted applicants must pay a deposit by the 11/7/2025 deadline for registration into the program. Space in the program is limited.
4. Registered participants will have the USCIS application prepared by an experienced immigration attorney. The $630 USCIS fee is your responsibility. The documentation and application review will be done within 2 weeks max – as AP applications have seen serious delays in processing. A visa may be required for non-Mexican citizens. Registered participants must also obtain a valid passport from their countries consulate prior to program date.
5. Study Abroad and travel orientation meeting.

Payments: $1400 due on 11/7/25, $1400 on 1/7/26, and $1000 due 3/7/26
